What Does Aerial Thermography Do?

Move the slider to see how aerial thermography detects issues within your solar array.
The left image shows what you can see.
The right side is thermal imagery. The brighter colored panels show an issue with the panel. It could be damage to a module, string connection issues or more.
This inspection image shows roughly $50,000 of loss revenue per year.
Solar Panel Inspection

From solar fields to rooftop installations, an aerial inspection using thermal imagery is a necessary maintenance for all solar owners. Damaged solar cells reduce power generation and lower energy revenue. The cells within a solar panel are twice the thickness of a human hair, and can be damaged by weather, improper installation or manufacturing defects.
Our Process
1. SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
Submit a request for a quote. Once we review the request, we will promptly get back to you to learn more about your solar array and provide scheduling options. Before meeting, we will create a flight plan that meet your needs. Contactless inspection process is available.
2. Inspection Of Your Solar Array
An FAA licensed and insured pilot completes an aerial thermal inspection of your solar array. Our state-of-the-art unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) offer the latest technology in High Resolution Forward Looking InfaRed (FLIR), which can see solar panel damage and circuit outages invisible to the human eye.
3. We Compile the Data
Data processing algorithms interpret 4K RGB color model imagery and radiometric thermal imagery to pinpoint production issues down to individual module cells.
4. presentation of results
We provide you with a report detailing the health of your solar array. Inspection results include geotagged anomaly details such as string outages, cracked or delaminated modules and module cell damage.
5. Schedule follow up inspection
Solar arrays should be inspected annually (or twice a year depending on if the location sees inclement weather). This ensures your system is operating at full capacity.
For residential locations, you can send the IR Equipment Inspection Report to your solar installer or warranty company, documenting any issues. Once repairs are made, we will schedule a follow-up flight to verify you are at optimal power generation.
